The P&O Cruises ship Oriana arrived back at Southampton over the weekend with a big dent in her side after suffering damage after bumping into a quay in Kristiansand.
The incident occured last Wednesday when she was leaving the Norwegian port bound for Southampton.
The Port Authority told a news channel that, as a result of the Oriana accident, a water pipe and an optical cable on the quay side were damaged and the Oriana’s stern was dented.
A P&O Cruises spokeswoman said there was “no impact to the ship, which departed from Southampton, as scheduled, on a mini-cruise to Bruges”.
This incident is reminiscent of Cunards Queen Victoria being damaged during a visit to Malta a few years ago.
