Rumours are growing that Adonia is set to leave the P and O Cruises fleet as part of a move by Carnival to only operate larger ships.
P&O haven’t yet released a summer 2016 schedule for the Adonia so speculation is that she could leave their fleet at the end of the winter Caribbean season in March 2016. Oceania and Azamara seem possible buyers.
It seems that the repositioning cruise from Barbados to Southampton in March 2016 has been withdrawn from sale indicating that the ship may be staying on the east coast of the USA.
Of course, the speculation could all be wrong and the Adonia may just be operating for P&O out of a U.S. Port next summer. It all depends whether a buyer can be found soon enough.
Whatever happens in summer 2016 it seems that Adonias’ days with P&O are numbered.
An announcement from P&O is expected around the 20th May regarding next summer.
If Adonia is leaving the P and O Cruises fleet there’s sure to be a booking flurry from loyal passengers who appreciate the charms of this lovely small ship.
It may be worth booking a last-chance Adonia cruise before the rush! There’s still plenty of Summer 2015 and winter 2015/2016 cruises available with many at good discounts. That could change real soon.
